Job Description
The Kilimo Loan Officer will evaluate and process agricultural loan applications for smallholder farmers, conduct field assessments, and provide financial guidance to support sustainable farming operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Economics, or related field
- • Strong analytical and numerical skills
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- • Familiarity with the Kenyan agricultural sector and micro‑finance practices
- • Ability to travel to rural areas for client assessments
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Assess and process agricultural loan applications from smallholder farmers
- • Conduct field visits to evaluate farm viability and collateral
- • Perform credit analysis and recommend loan approvals based on risk assessment
- • Provide financial education and guidance to borrowers on loan terms and repayment schedules
- • Maintain accurate loan records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
