Job Description
The Kitchen Assistant will support chefs by preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean work environment, and assisting with inventory management. Responsibilities include basic food preparation, sanitation, and ensuring supplies are stored safely. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Vocational qualification in Food Production, Hospitality, or Catering (preferred)
- • Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience as a kitchen assistant or in a similar role
- • Solid understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Wash, peel, chop, and prepare fresh ingredients as directed by the chef
- • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, cookware, and equipment
- • Store food items and supplies safely according to proper guidelines
- • Receive, organize, and stock kitchen inventory and supplies
- • Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain an orderly workstation
- • Support the kitchen team during high‑volume service periods
- • Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety protocols
