Job Description
The Lab Director will lead Zuri Health’s laboratory services, establishing a standardized, scalable operating model across multiple African markets. Responsibilities include overseeing the Nairobi reference laboratory, driving accreditation, designing network logistics and expanding the laboratory footprint. The role requires senior‑level scientific leadership and extensive experience in laboratory management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc or MA) in a scientific or health‑related field
- • Minimum 12 years experience in laboratory leadership or management
- • Proven track record of achieving accreditation and scaling laboratory services
- • Strong strategic planning, operational and financial management skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Lead and standardise laboratory operations across reference and satellite labs
- • Drive ISO 15189 accreditation for the Nairobi laboratory and guide satellite accreditation pathways
- • Design and manage sample logistics, cold‑chain and cross‑border transport processes
- • Develop unified test menus, SOPs, quality thresholds and data management systems
- • Oversee supplier management, commercial performance and profitability of the lab business
- • Expand the laboratory network across Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Uganda and Cameroon
