Job Description
The Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer ensures compliance with ISO 15189 standards, conducts internal audits and manages quality improvement activities within the laboratory.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences
- • Valid registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board
- • At least 3 years of post‑training experience in a clinical laboratory
- • Training in ISO 15189 and internal auditing
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools
- • Strong organisational and analytical skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Analyze, review and interpret IQC and EQA data
- • Perform internal audits and support external accreditation audits
- • Conduct root cause analysis, risk assessments and implement corrective actions
- • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation
- • Oversee equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration
- • Develop, review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)
