Job Description
The Laboratory Technician Intern will support the technical team in testing, installing, and maintaining medical and laboratory equipment. The intern will assist with equipment demonstrations, documentation, and customer interactions while gaining hands‑on experience in a clinical environment. This position offers a stipend of KES 20,000 per month plus commissions and provides exposure to a wide range of medical devices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- • Relevant practical or laboratory experience (preferred)
- • Basic understanding of laboratory equipment, procedures, and safety practices
- • Good communication and interpersonal skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Assist with equipment testing, preparation, basic operation, and demonstrations
- • Support installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting under supervision
- • Conduct pre‑delivery equipment checks
- • Assist with technical documentation and product specifications
- • Understand the company's medical, laboratory, and scientific equipment portfolio
- • Help customers understand product features and applications
- • Participate in demonstrations at hospitals, laboratories, clinics, research institutions, and other facilities
- • Respond to basic technical or product inquiries and escalate complex matters
- • Coordinate equipment preparation and delivery
- • Confirm that supplied products match customer specifications
- • Support customer handover and basic product orientation
- • Maintain records of leads, quotations, orders, deliveries, and customer follow‑ups
