Job Description
The Laboratory Technician will support raw‑material testing, formulation trials, and quality evaluation of paints and construction chemicals, ensuring products meet performance specifications. Duties include conducting laboratory analyses, maintaining accurate records, and assisting the product development team. The role requires a detail‑oriented individual with a relevant scientific background.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Paint Technology, Building Materials or related field
- • Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably with paints or construction chemicals
- • Knowledge of raw‑material testing, formulation development and product‑performance testing
- • Ability to record, analyze and report laboratory results accurately
- • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Conduct raw‑material testing and sampling according to approved procedures
- • Perform laboratory trials and formulation development for new and existing products
- • Test paints and coatings for properties such as viscosity, colour, solids content and consistency
- • Evaluate construction‑material products including wall putty, mortars and adhesives
- • Carry out in‑process and finished‑product quality testing and report deviations
- • Maintain accurate laboratory records, trial data and documentation
