Job Description
The Laboratory Technologist provides accurate and timely diagnostic testing to support patient care at Kijabe Hospital. Core duties involve conducting laboratory investigations, communicating results, maintaining documentation, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The role also requires maintaining a clean work environment and collaborating with clinical staff. A Diploma in laboratory science and at least two years’ experience are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Laboratory Science or related field
- • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience
- • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accuracy
- • Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
- • Understanding of quality and safety standards in a clinical laboratory

- • Carry out laboratory investigations according to established standards
- • Communicate test results promptly and efficiently to relevant personnel
- • Maintain confidential and complete documentation of all patient results
- • Ensure cleanliness and proper organization of the laboratory workspace
- • Participate in continuing education and quality improvement programmes
- • Maintain professional relationships with patients, families, co‑workers and medical staff
- • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
- • Ensure compliance with the hospital’s quality management system (Safecare)
