Job Description
The Lead Fintech Oversight & Governance role at Safaricom defines and executes the company’s fintech regulatory strategy, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and alignment with commercial objectives. Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field
- advanced degree is a plus
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in fintech regulatory compliance or governance
- • Strong understanding of Kenya’s financial regulations and industry standards
- • Excellent analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement Safaricom’s fintech regulatory strategy and compliance framework
- • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure alignment with commercial initiatives
- • Lead governance processes, risk assessments, and mitigation plans for fintech products
- • Liaise with regulators, industry bodies, and internal legal teams
- • Provide guidance to product and business units on regulatory requirements
- • Conduct training and awareness programs on fintech compliance
- • Report regulatory risks and compliance status to senior management
