Job Description
The Legal Counsel, Risk & Compliance will provide legal advice, monitor regulatory changes and ensure KCB Bank Kenya adheres to all applicable laws and internal policies. The role conducts compliance audits, drafts contractual documents and manages power‑of‑attorney and court‑order processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND or Diploma in law or a related discipline
- • Minimum four years of relevant legal or compliance experience
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Review legislation, proposed bills and judicial decisions to assess impact on the bank
- • Advise on policy and procedural changes to ensure regulatory compliance
- • Analyse compliance requirements of new and revised laws and regulations
- • Conduct internal legal compliance audits and examinations
- • Liaise with business units to develop mitigation measures for identified legal risks
- • Update legal compliance checklists and matrices in line with current legislation
- • Draft and review bank policies, product terms and conditions
- • Manage preparation, registration, revocation and record‑keeping of powers of attorney
- • Verify court orders and provide guidance on their implementation
