Job Description
The Legal Officer provides expert legal advice on commercial transactions, regulatory compliance and risk management, while maintaining the company’s legal files and ensuring adherence to co‑operative and employment laws.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND degree in Law or related field
- • Minimum 2 years of legal experience and a valid practicing certificate
- • Strong knowledge of commercial and regulatory law
- • Excellent communication and analytical skills

Responsibilities
- • Provide legal advice on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance and risk management
- • Manage and maintain the company’s legal documentation and files
- • Ensure compliance with the Co‑operative Societies Act, employment law and health & safety legislation
- • Advise management and the board on legal and compliance matters
- • Document board resolutions and ensure filing in line with bylaws
- • Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, industry associations and other stakeholders
