Job Description
The Librarian is responsible for managing library collections and services, providing users with access to information resources, and developing outreach programs that support education in underserved communities. The role includes cataloguing, user assistance, and maintaining an organized, welcoming environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND in Library and Information Science or a related field
- • At least 1 year experience delivering library services
- • Strong record‑management and cataloguing skills

Responsibilities
- • Research, select, and acquire library materials aligned with community needs
- • Develop and implement outreach programs to promote library usage
- • Prepare budget reports and manage library finances
- • Open and close the library, ensuring operational readiness
- • Catalogue, classify, and maintain materials using barcodes and call numbers
- • Assist patrons in locating resources and provide reference services
- • Analyze user needs and recommend appropriate acquisitions
- • Maintain and update the library management system with accurate data
- • Repair damaged books and ensure the collection remains in good condition
- • Conduct user inductions and provide guidance on library services
- • Ensure a safe, conducive environment for learning and research
