Job Description
The Light Vehicle Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles, transporting goods and passengers while adhering to traffic regulations and company policies. Duties include vehicle inspections, routine maintenance, record keeping, and ensuring all documentation is current. The driver must maintain confidentiality and provide reliable service across Nairobi.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Minimum KCSE (O‑level) education
- • Fluent in Kiswahili and English
- • Valid Kenyan driving licence (class B, C, C1 or higher) for manual and automatic transmission
- • Good conduct certificate and clean driving record
- • Age between 25 and 40 years
- • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to maintain vehicle records
- • Good health and visual acuity
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Operate company vehicles in strict compliance with Kenyan traffic laws and safety regulations
- • Secure goods during transit to prevent damage and assist passengers with boarding and luggage
- • Perform daily vehicle inspections, including fluids, tyre pressure, brakes, and lights
- • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as changing flat tyres and scheduling servicing
- • Maintain accurate logbooks documenting mileage, fuel consumption, and trip details
- • Ensure all vehicle documents (insurance, registration, licenses) are valid and carried
- • Report any incidents, accidents, traffic violations, or mechanical failures promptly
- • Uphold confidentiality and professional conduct while interacting with passengers and staff
