Job Description
The Loan Recovery Officer manages receivables risk by overseeing portfolio performance and executing loan workout strategies. The role involves contacting delinquent borrowers, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring accurate documentation of loan cases. The officer also prepares regular compliance and portfolio reports for senior management. A diploma in finance or a related field is required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- • Experience in loan recovery, collections, or credit risk management preferred
- • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- • Attention to detail and solid documentation skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Carry out customer workout procedures for borrowers in arrears
- • Document all open loan cases accurately
- • Ensure timely repayments across the assigned portfolio
- • Negotiate repayment solutions and reschedule delinquent accounts
- • Coordinate with external service providers and escalate repossession cases when necessary
- • Educate customers on the impact of non‑repayment
- • Analyse causes of portfolio deterioration and support corrective actions
- • Provide regular compliance and portfolio reports to the Write‑Off and Repossession Coordinator
- • Restructure repayment plans for delinquent clients according to policy
