Job Description
The Locum EMT Operator will safely operate an ambulance and support paramedics in delivering pre‑hospital emergency care. Responsibilities include driving to emergency scenes, assisting with patient care, maintaining the vehicle, and keeping accurate records.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Certificate in EMT‑Basic or EMT‑Intermediate
- • Valid practising licence from the Kenya Council of Emergency Medical Technicians (KCEMT)
- • Valid Class B driving licence
- • Minimum one year of experience as an emergency ambulance operator
- • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- • High attention to detail and situational awareness
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Safely drive and operate the ambulance during emergency responses and patient transfers
- • Assist the paramedic in providing pre‑hospital patient care and clinical support
- • Perform routine vehicle checks, maintenance, and ensure roadworthiness
- • Maintain inventory records of spare parts and emergency equipment
- • Ensure onboard communication systems are operational
- • Keep accurate logbooks, maintenance records, and expense receipts
