Job Description
The Maintenance Manager oversees the reliability and safety of plant, material‑handling and power‑generation equipment, including forklifts, reach stackers and generators. The role involves planning preventive maintenance, leading a team of mechanics, managing budgets and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates must have a BA/BSc/HND or professional certificate and 8‑10 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment maintenance. Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems and proven leadership abilities are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND or professional certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- • 8–10 years of experience maintaining heavy equipment, material‑handling and power‑generation machinery
- • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, diesel, electrical and electronic control systems
- • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple priorities

- • Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules for forklifts, reach stackers, top loaders and generators based on operating cycles
- • Lead a team of mechanics and auto‑electricians, assigning work orders and managing shift schedules
- • Diagnose and repair complex issues in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and electronic controls
- • Analyse equipment telemetry and performance data to identify trends and implement proactive reliability measures
- • Manage maintenance budgets, cost control and financial reporting for the equipment fleet
- • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, certification requirements and company policies
