Job Description

The Legal Services Manager will lead the division, ensuring efficient staff and resource management while aligning legal deliverables with the Authority’s strategic objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing budgeting, performance targets, and the management of external counsel for dispute resolution. The role also involves advising on contracts, regulatory compliance, and developing governance frameworks for the Technopolis. Strong leadership and extensive legal expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field
  • • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc, MA) preferred
  • • Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience
  • • Proven leadership and staff‑management capabilities
  • • Strong knowledge of contract law, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance
  • • Excellent analytical, drafting and advisory skills

Responsibilities

  • • Provide leadership and manage staff and resources within the Legal Services Division
  • • Implement divisional deliverables aligned with the Authority’s strategic plan and performance contract
  • • Oversee development of the department’s annual budget, work plans and periodic reports
  • • Manage achievement of division targets under the performance contract
  • • Supervise staff performance, career development and skill deployment
  • • Manage the Authority’s panel of external lawyers handling disputes
  • • Liaise with external counsel on project‑related matters, security transactions and litigation
  • • Advise on contracting, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance
  • • Coordinate with functional areas on contract and dispute requirements
  • • Oversee contractual issues and ensure proper handling within the Authority
  • • Draft, review and advise on legal agreements related to Authority operations
  • • Respond to legal queries from functional units
  • • Prepare board papers and departmental reports
  • • Lead development of governance structures, regulations and administrative guidelines for the Technopolis
