Job Description
The Mechanical Engineering Internship offers hands‑on experience in product design and manufacturing within a fast‑moving renewable‑energy startup. Interns will support the creation of 3D models, detailed drawings, and prototype builds while collaborating with senior engineers. The role is ideal for recent graduates eager to apply mechanical engineering fundamentals and develop practical skills in Solid Edge, machining, and rapid prototyping. The position reports to the CTO and is based in Nairobi.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- • Recent graduate or soon‑to‑be graduate with strong fundamentals in manufacturing and design
- • Demonstrated passion for renewable energy and social impact
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Support the design and manufacturing of new products and accessories
- • Create, update, and review 3D engineering models using Solid Edge
- • Produce high‑quality 2D manufacturing drawings
- • Collaborate with part‑time mechanical engineering contractors on design challenges
- • Prototype new designs in‑house with lathe, vertical mill, power tools, and 3D printer
