Job Description
The Mechatronics Technician will maintain and repair electromechanical equipment in a fast‑moving food manufacturing environment, ensuring optimal performance of PLC‑controlled systems. Responsibilities include preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, as well as installation and troubleshooting of hardware and software components. The role supports continuous production by quickly diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Mechatronics or equivalent from a recognized college.
- • KCSE certificate – grade C or higher.
- • Minimum two years practical technical experience in a busy food manufacturing setting.
- • Experience in the dairy industry is an advantage.
- • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC).
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Carry out preventive, corrective, emergency, and predictive maintenance on all electromechanical systems.
- • Install equipment and configure software/hardware for instruments, drives, controls, PLCs and other computerized systems according to schematics and manuals.
- • Accurately diagnose equipment problems using proven troubleshooting methods and implement effective solutions.
- • Run diagnostic tests to determine whether issues are software, hardware, or operator/process related.
- • Maintain backup software for PLC‑run machines and equipment.
