Job Description
The Medical Officer provides comprehensive outpatient care at the Buru Buru outreach clinic, conducting assessments, diagnosing conditions, and managing treatment plans. Responsibilities include performing examinations, ordering investigations, delivering emergency procedures when needed, and offering preventive health services. The officer collaborates with specialists and the main hospital to ensure seamless referrals and contributes to quality improvement initiatives. Strong clinical judgment and teamwork are essential for delivering patient‑centred care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND or equivalent medical qualification
- • Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience
- • Completed post‑graduate internship
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Review patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and order appropriate laboratory and radiology investigations
- • Monitor the progress of acute and chronic patients and adjust care plans accordingly
- • Discuss diagnoses and treatment options with patients and caregivers to ensure informed decisions
- • Perform emergency surgical or medical procedures when required
- • Provide preventive health screenings, risk assessments, and education on illness prevention
- • Coordinate with specialists and consultants to develop optimal treatment plans for complex cases
