Job Description
The Milk Procurement Manager oversees the end‑to‑end procurement of raw milk, managing relationships with farmers, cooperatives, and aggregators to secure supply volumes while ensuring quality and cost efficiency. Responsibilities include negotiating contracts, planning collection logistics, monitoring pricing, and leading a team to achieve procurement targets across the region. The role requires extensive experience in dairy supply chains and strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Agriculture, Dairy Technology, or related field
- • 7–10 years experience in milk procurement or dairy supply chain, with 3–5 years in a managerial role
- • Proven track record of managing large‑scale milk collection operations
- • Strong commercial, negotiation, and analytical skills
- • Experience with SAP/ERP systems and procurement reporting
- • High integrity and ability to work closely with farmers and suppliers
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Procure 200,000–250,000 litres of raw milk per day from farmers and aggregators
- • Manage contracts and relationships with dairy farmers, cooperatives, and collection centres
- • Plan and oversee logistics for milk collection, transportation, and delivery
- • Negotiate pricing, cost structures, and payment terms to optimise procurement costs
- • Monitor milk quality, conduct sampling, and ensure compliance with standards
- • Analyse supply data, forecast demand, and prepare procurement reports
- • Lead and supervise procurement staff, providing guidance and performance reviews
- • Implement SAP/ERP systems for procurement reporting and data analysis
- • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the supply chain
