Job Description
The Music Theory & Composition Lecturer teaches core concepts of music theory, composition techniques and studio production at Africa Digital Media Institute. The role creates lesson plans, guides students in using digital audio workstations, and evaluates their compositions. Professional credits and hands‑on experience with DAWs are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Professional experience in music production, composition or live sound with documented credits
- • Proficiency with DAWs including Logic Pro, Ableton Live and Pro Tools
- • Strong understanding of acoustics, studio design and audio engineering principles
- • Relevant academic background in music, sound engineering or a related discipline preferred
- • Excellent communication and instructional abilities

- • Deliver lectures and workshops on music theory, harmony, counterpoint and composition techniques
- • Design curriculum and assessment tools for music composition courses
- • Instruct students in the use of digital audio workstations such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live and Pro Tools

- • Teach fundamentals of acoustics, studio design and sound engineering
- • Organize performances, recitals and portfolio reviews for student works
