Job Description
The Theatre Nurse provides peri‑operative nursing care within the operating theatre, supporting surgical teams and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures. Duties include preparing the theatre, assisting with instrument handling, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position requires a registered nursing qualification and strong teamwork skills.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Registered Nurse qualification (Diploma or Bachelor’s in Nursing)
- • Experience in peri‑operative or theatre nursing
- • Valid Kenyan nursing license
- • Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities
- • Provide nursing care to patients before, during and after surgical procedures
- • Prepare the operating theatre and ensure all equipment and supplies are ready
- • Assist the surgical team with instrument handling, patient positioning and sterile technique
- • Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any intra‑operative changes
- • Document procedures accurately and maintain patient records in compliance with hospital policies
