Job Description
The Operations Driver ensures safe handling and movement of perishable cargo at Airflo’s Nairobi hub. Responsibilities include securing pallets, managing thermal blankets, escorting deliveries to the airside, and maintaining a clean yard. The role also involves operating forklifts and tractor‑trailer trucks, completing fuel and vehicle checks, and adhering to security, health and safety procedures. A KCSE qualification and 3‑5 years of accident‑free driving experience are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) or equivalent
- • 3–5 years of accident‑free driving experience in logistics or aviation environments
- • Valid driver’s licence for PSV/tractor‑trailer vehicles
- • Ability to operate forklift and follow cargo handling SOPs
- • Willingness to undergo additional cargo‑handling training
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Secure pallets on dollies and ensure proper placement during pushout
- • Collect and organize thermal blankets and pallet covers, verifying condition and quantity
- • Escort deliveries to the airside using trailers or tractor‑trailer vehicles
- • Keep the yard clean and orderly at all times
- • Receive and distribute airline equipment according to SOPs
- • Load and unload cargo while operating forklift or tractor‑trailer truck
- • Refuel vehicles, clean tractors, and maintain activity logs
- • Complete daily vehicle checklists and report defects promptly
- • Maintain equipment in good working order
- • Follow all security, health and safety procedures
