Job Description
The Outside Sales Associate is responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing customer relationships within the shipping sector. The role involves visiting clients, negotiating rates, and achieving sales targets while coordinating with operations and finance teams. Strong communication and commercial awareness are essential to succeed in this fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant field
- • 1–3 years of professional shipping sales or related experience
- • Strong communication and negotiation skills
- • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Visit new and existing customers within the designated sales area to negotiate prices and secure cargo mix
- • Maintain personal relationships with key customers to ensure repeat business
- • Achieve local sales targets and provide feedback to support overall company strategy
- • Liaise with Operations, Customer Service and Credit Control to resolve operational issues
- • Ensure all sales processes and transactions comply with company policies and regulations
- • Identify and develop new business opportunities with both new and existing customers
