Job Description
The Part‑Time Finance Manager will oversee Strong Start’s financial operations, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, timely reporting, and effective cash‑flow management. Reporting to the Managing Director, the manager prepares monthly management reports, monitors budgets, and supports strategic decision‑making across programmes. The role also handles revenue reconciliation, payroll processing, and compliance with statutory filing requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
- • CPA qualification or progress toward a recognised professional accounting qualification preferred
- • Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting or financial‑management experience
- • Experience preparing management reports, budgets, cash‑flow forecasts, and reconciliations
- • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, financial controls, and statutory requirements
- • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets

Responsibilities
- • Maintain accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date financial records
- • Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss, cash flow, receivables, payables, and budget‑versus‑actual performance
- • Monitor the organization’s financial position and highlight risks or discrepancies to the Managing Director
- • Track income and expenditure across programmes and locations
- • Support annual budgeting and maintain practical cash‑flow forecasts
- • Provide financial information to support management planning and decision‑making
- • Oversee invoicing, payment allocation, receipts, customer balances, and collections
- • Reconcile revenue across programmes and payment channels
- • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts and respond to billing queries
- • Perform regular bank, M‑Pay, and other payment‑channel reconciliations
- • Review supplier invoices, expenses, and supporting documentation
- • Prepare payroll information and ensure accurate staff‑related payments
- • Maintain appropriate financial controls and organized supporting records
- • Ensure timely completion of finance processes and recurring reports
- • Recommend improvements to financial systems and processes
- • Prepare accurate financial schedules and documentation for statutory filings, audits, and year‑end reporting
- • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and other financial service providers
- • Collaborate with programme, operations, and teaching teams to ensure complete and accurate financial information
- • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling company, employee, and customer financial information
