Job Description
The Pharmaceutical Technologist will work in a busy pharmacy setting, dispensing medicines, verifying prescriptions and providing medication counselling to customers. The role includes managing stock levels, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Candidates must hold a diploma in pharmaceutical technology, be registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and have 2–3 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from an accredited institution
- • Valid practising licence with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
- • Minimum two to three years of experience in a retail pharmacy or similar setting
- • Strong communication and customer‑service skills
- • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Dispense medicines accurately according to valid prescriptions
- • Receive, verify and process prescription orders
- • Provide medication guidance and customer service to patients
- • Monitor stock levels, expiry dates and reorder supplies as needed
- • Maintain up‑to‑date pharmacy records, registers and inventory logs
- • Ensure proper storage, handling and disposal of pharmaceutical products
- • Comply with Pharmacy and Poisons Board regulations and internal procedures
- • Keep the pharmacy clean, organised and professional at all times
