Job Description
The pharmaceutical technologist dispenses prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines accurately, provides patients with clear usage instructions and monitors for side effects. They manage drug inventory, track expiries and ensure proper storage while maintaining compliance with Pharmacy and Poisons Board regulations. The role also offers professional guidance to customers, supports audits and documentation, and delivers high‑quality patient care in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology or a related field
- • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting
- • Registered and licensed pharmacist with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB)

- • Accurately dispense prescription and over‑the-counter medications according to medical prescriptions
- • Provide clear dosage, administration instructions and possible side effects to patients
- • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical dispensing standards and guidelines
- • Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of pharmaceutical products
- • Track expiry dates and ensure proper storage of medications
- • Record and manage drug inventory and stock movements
- • Offer professional guidance on medication use to patients and customers
- • Respond to customer inquiries regarding pharmaceutical products
- • Deliver high‑quality customer service and patient care
