Job Description
The Plant Operator will be responsible for safely operating heavy machinery at designated sites and ensuring continuous plant performance. Duties include monitoring equipment, performing routine oil checks, and coordinating maintenance with mechanics. Candidates must hold a KCSE certificate, possess a valid driving licence, and have completed a first‑aid course. This full‑time remote‑compatible role is suitable for individuals with mechanical aptitude and a strong safety mindset.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) with a minimum grade D
- • Valid driving licence appropriate for the machinery operated
- • Successful completion of the Plant Operator Grade III suitability test
- • First‑Aid certification of at least one week from a recognized institution
- • Demonstrated ability to operate multiple plant types safely
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Operate heavy plants of rating C in accordance with safety standards
- • Assist machine attendants in identifying potential breakdowns and reporting issues
- • Liaise with mechanics to schedule servicing and repairs
- • Conduct daily and weekly oil checks and maintain equipment cleanliness
- • Follow operational procedures and maintain accurate activity logs
