Job Description
The Plumber is responsible for installing, testing, maintaining and repairing site piping, gas lines, irrigation systems, steam boilers and water storage units at Syngenta’s facilities. Duties include coordinating plumbing works, interpreting technical designs, preparing bills of quantities and ensuring reliable water and wastewater systems. The role also involves preventive maintenance and providing guidance to junior staff. A relevant diploma and three years of hands‑on experience are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- • Minimum 3 years of relevant plumbing experience in industrial or agricultural settings
- • Ability to read and interpret technical plans, sketches and drawings
- • Knowledge of water supply, irrigation, wastewater and boiler systems
- • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- • Commitment to safety, quality control and continuous improvement

- • Install, test, maintain and repair site piping, gas lines, irrigation infrastructure, steam boilers and storage units
- • Coordinate plumbing works and oversee installation, repair and maintenance activities
- • Implement designs, specifications and work orders for new water or gas installations and modifications
- • Estimate and prepare bills of quantities for materials, tools and equipment
- • Manage clean water supply, irrigation, water heating, drinking water and wastewater systems in compliance with standards
- • Perform installation, repair, cleaning, inspection and preventive maintenance of water storage tanks and silos
- • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and address corrective issues promptly
- • Provide guidance and training to junior plumbers and apprentices as needed
