Job Description
The Audiologist conducts comprehensive hearing assessments, interprets test results and determines the nature of hearing impairments for patients of all ages. Responsibilities include fitting hearing aids, referring candidates for cochlear implants, and providing education on hearing loss prevention. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams for newborn, paediatric and adult screening programs while maintaining confidential audiogram records. A diploma in audiology and at least two years of experience in a busy clinical setting are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Audiology or a related field.
- • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a busy audiology facility, preferably with paediatric exposure.
- • Proficiency in conducting and interpreting audiometric tests.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
- • Examine patients with ear, hearing or balance problems using audiometers and speech analysers.
- • Conduct prescribed hearing tests, interpret findings and identify conductive or sensorineural impairments.
- • Provide hearing aids or refer patients for cochlear implant evaluation.
- • Evaluate patients on follow‑up visits and document any changes in condition.
- • Educate patients on strategies to prevent or delay hearing loss.
- • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for newborn, paediatric and adult hearing screening.
- • Maintain confidential records of audiograms.
- • Assess patient and family education needs and deliver appropriate teaching.
- • Instruct patients and families on investigations and follow‑up appointments.
- • Observe infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- • Participate in data collection and monitor unit‑based quality indicators.
- • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and report incidents.
