Job Description
The Porter at the Cancer Centre will ensure the efficient movement of patients, specimens and equipment throughout the facility while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Responsibilities include assisting clinical staff with set‑up, adhering to infection‑control protocols, and promptly reporting any hazards. The role requires physical stamina and a courteous attitude toward patients and colleagues.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- a certificate in health services is an advantage
- • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift moderate weights
- • Good communication skills and courteous attitude toward patients and staff
- • Basic understanding of hospital safety and infection‑control procedures
- • Reliable attendance and punctuality
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Transport patients, specimens, and equipment between departments within the cancer centre
- • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of service areas and transport carts
- • Assist clinical staff with setting up treatment rooms and handling supplies
- • Ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to safety and infection‑control protocols
- • Report any equipment issues or hazards to the supervisory team
