Job Description

The Programs Lead oversees the organization’s family planning and reproductive health programs across Kenya and Tanzania, ensuring they meet donor requirements and achieve impact targets. The role includes managing program staff, developing proposals, work plans, and monitoring reports, as well as coordinating with partners and overseeing budgets. Additional responsibilities involve leading training initiatives, fundraising, and representing the organization with stakeholders. A strong background in health sciences, program management, and donor grant administration is required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in health science, management, administration, project management or a related discipline (post‑graduate qualification in public health or nursing is a plus)
  • • Minimum 6 years progressive management experience in family planning or reproductive health programs
  • • Proven experience in fundraising and managing donor grants
  • • Extensive knowledge of family planning programming and the East African reproductive health context
  • • Strong report writing and information synthesis skills

  • • Oversee and lead Kenya/Tanzania programs, ensuring results, value for money, and donor compliance
  • • Develop, execute, and monitor family planning and reproductive health activities
  • • Prepare program documents including proposals, work plans, donor reports, and M&E reports
  • • Manage program department staff and coordinate with sales and marketing teams
  • • Collaborate with external research and monitoring partners to meet donor M&E requirements
  • • Monitor expenditures against budgets and align with work plans and deliverables
  • • Coordinate with internal and external partners across the organization
