Job Description
The Plant Engineer/Engineering Manager provides technical leadership for the confectionery division, overseeing maintenance, utilities and continuous‑improvement initiatives. The role designs and implements preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs to maximise equipment reliability. It also manages plant utilities, ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards, and controls spare‑parts inventory. Strong analytical and stakeholder‑management skills are essential for driving efficiency and cost‑effective operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- • 7–10 years experience in confectionery manufacturing engineering or maintenance management
- • Proven expertise in preventive, predictive and reliability‑centered maintenance
- • Strong knowledge of utilities management, including boilers, compressors, refrigeration and water‑treatment systems
- • Experience with SAP maintenance modules and TPM/Lean/5S methodologies
- • Excellent troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement skills
- • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
- • Monitor equipment performance and improve plant reliability
- • Lead root‑cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions
- • Track and improve MTBF and MTTR metrics
- • Implement condition‑monitoring techniques and reliability‑centered maintenance
- • Manage all plant utilities—including boilers, compressors, refrigeration, steam, power distribution, water and wastewater treatment—to ensure uninterrupted service and optimise consumption
- • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
- • Ensure availability of critical spare parts, monitor inventory levels, review variances and implement corrective actions
