Job Description
The Quality Checks Officer will review and approve vehicle valuation reports, ensuring accuracy, proper pricing and compliance with quality standards. The role also involves maintaining records, updating price lists, and mentoring junior valuation staff. Continuous research on automotive technologies supports improved valuation processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Automotive Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution
- • Membership of the Institute of Professional Engineers
- • At least 3 years of practical experience in a busy valuation and insurance company
- • Clean driving licence with minimum 2 years driving experience (BCE)
- • Strong teamwork and leadership abilities
- • Good report writing and computer skills
- • In‑depth knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- • Excellent communication and customer‑handling skills
- • High flexibility, proactive attitude and excellent time‑management
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Verify valuation reports for completeness and accuracy before approval
- • Ensure charged prices are correct and prevent overcharging or undercharging
- • Maintain and organize records handled at the approval centre for future reference
- • Review and approve reports in a timely manner and keep price lists updated
- • Re‑evaluate disputed valuation reports following customer appeals
- • Adhere to quality‑assurance procedures and work instructions while approving reports
- • Provide guidance, mentoring and coaching to junior valuation officers
- • Conduct inductions for new staff and ensure compliance with policies
- • Participate in departmental improvements to enhance efficiency
- • Research new automotive technologies and apply findings to daily duties
- • Act as acting head of department when required
