Job Description
The Recycling Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily plant operations, ensures equipment reliability, implements quality and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement to maximize plant efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- • Minimum 3–5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing or processing environments
- • Background in electrical systems preferred
- • Strong leadership and team‑management abilities
- • Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills
- • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations
- • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant software
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Supervise daily activities of recycling plant staff, including machine operators and maintenance personnel
- • Implement quality control measures to meet regulatory and company standards
- • Enforce safety protocols and standard operating procedures
- • Monitor processes to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
- • Coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities
- • Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, breakdowns and staff productivity
- • Prepare and submit weekly performance and OKR reports
- • Manage inventory of materials and coordinate logistics for timely removal
- • Conduct regular equipment inspections and audits
- • Analyze and improve existing processes and implement control systems
- • Collaborate with engineering on new equipment design and installation
- • Use data analysis for decision‑making and process enhancements
- • Research market opportunities for new machinery and material streams
- • Generate ideas for expanding recycling of untapped material flows
