Job Description
The Regional Financial Comptroller will lead financial management for the region, developing plans, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and providing strategic advice to regional offices. The role oversees budgeting, reporting, grant accounting and supports multi‑country operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
- • MBA, MSc or MA preferred
- • Professional finance certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage
- • Minimum 10 years of relevant financial management experience in an international or UN‑type organization
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement short‑ and long‑term financial management plans aligned with IOM global policies
- • Provide strategic financial advice to regional office management and country offices
- • Guide and support Resource Management Officers and finance staff on financial controls and procedures
- • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for the region
- • Ensure compliance with IOM and UN financial regulations, including grant accounting and cost allocation
- • Conduct training and capacity‑building sessions on financial policies and systems
- • Monitor financial performance, identify variances and recommend corrective actions
- • Support multi‑country, multi‑currency operations, including inter‑company reconciliations and consolidated reporting
- • Coordinate with headquarters on audit, compliance and risk‑management activities
