Job Description
The Resource Mobilisation and Business Development Manager strengthens icipe’s ability to secure funding and forge strategic partnerships. The position provides strategic and technical support to senior management and research teams, identifying and prioritising funding opportunities. The manager leads proposal development, donor engagement, and partnership negotiations to advance the institute’s research agenda.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) or higher (MBA/MSc/MA) in a relevant field.
- • Minimum 15 years of experience in resource mobilisation, fundraising, or business development.
- • Proven track record in securing funding and building strategic partnerships.
- • Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
- • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- • Identify, assess, and prioritize resource mobilisation and business development opportunities.
- • Analyze donor calls, funding priorities, and strategic plans to determine relevance to the organisation.
- • Advise management and scientists on positioning expertise and value proposition for funding opportunities.
- • Recommend proposal strategies, partnership approaches, and donor positioning.
- • Resolve complex proposal development and coordination issues with internal stakeholders.
- • Provide technical guidance and leadership to scientific teams.
