Job Description
The Security Manager will develop and implement the organization’s security strategy, conduct risk assessments, and oversee physical and digital protection measures for staff, shelters and programme sites.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Criminology, International Security, Disaster Management or a related field
- • At least 7 years of relevant experience in security, risk management or safety, preferably in an NGO or humanitarian setting
- • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role
- • Demonstrated experience conducting security and risk assessments
- • Experience developing organisational security policies and managing security personnel
- • Strong knowledge of the Kenyan security and operating environment
- • Excellent analytical and risk‑assessment skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement the organization’s security strategy and annual work plan
- • Establish security standards for offices, shelters, field locations, staff travel and programme activities
- • Conduct regular security risk assessments and devise mitigation measures
- • Advise senior management on emerging security risks and maintain a risk register
- • Oversee physical security arrangements, access‑control systems and shelter confidentiality
- • Manage security personnel, service providers and emergency response protocols
- • Review and update security policies, procedures and business continuity plans
- • Report incidents and coordinate incident response actions
