Job Description
The senior accountant will oversee financial operations, prepare accurate financial statements, and strengthen internal controls for Rock Investment Bank. The role includes supervising junior staff and ensuring compliance with IFRS and Kenyan statutory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) and ICPAK membership in good standing
- • 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in inventory‑heavy or multi‑location businesses
- • High integrity, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
- • Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, including adjustments and reconciliations
- • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure data completeness
- • Oversee fixed‑asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and asset registers
- • Supervise junior accountants and provide guidance on accounting tasks
- • Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax laws, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements
- • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives
- • Support process improvements and internal control enhancements
