Job Description
The Senior Application Manager will lead the application laboratory for a global flavour and food‑technology company, directing formulation projects, managing customer product‑development programmes and coaching a team of application technicians. The role combines technical expertise, project management and commercial support to deliver innovative food and beverage solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition or related field
- MBA or MSc preferred
- • 7–10 years experience in food‑product formulation and application development
- • Strong knowledge of food regulations in African markets
- • Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage customer projects
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Lead beverage and sweet‑food formulation and application development projects
- • Design and develop prototype recipes from benchmarking through sensory testing and stability assessment
- • Manage customer product‑development projects from concept through commercial production
- • Oversee customer trials, factory trials and scale‑up activities
- • Provide technical formulation and manufacturing support to customers and sales teams
- • Lead, coach and develop application technicians and laboratory staff
- • Ensure compliance with food regulations across African markets
- • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align product development with market needs
