Job Description
The Senior Associate will advise on energy and infrastructure projects, handling project finance transactions and drafting complex agreements. The role involves leading legal work, negotiating terms, and supervising junior lawyers. Candidates must be a qualified advocate with extensive experience in project finance and infrastructure law.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • LLB and admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya (or equivalent qualification from another common‑law jurisdiction)
- • Six to eight years of post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm or similar environment, focusing on energy, infrastructure and project finance
- • Proven track record of managing complex transactions and negotiating on behalf of sponsors or lenders
- • Strong drafting and negotiation skills with solid understanding of project finance documentation
- • Experience supervising junior lawyers and commitment to their development
- • Excellent organizational and reliability skills to handle multiple live matters

Responsibilities
- • Advise clients on energy and infrastructure project development and financing
- • Draft, review and negotiate project finance agreements, contracts and related documentation
- • Conduct legal due diligence and risk assessments for transactions
- • Manage day‑to‑day matters on multiple projects simultaneously
- • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, reviewing their work product
- • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external counsel to deliver project outcomes
