Job Description
The senior backend engineer will design and develop event‑driven microservices that power M‑KOPA’s digital financial services. The role involves full‑stack ownership from architecture decisions through production monitoring and continuous delivery. Collaboration with senior engineers includes mentoring, code reviews, and ensuring high‑quality, observable solutions. The position works with cloud platforms, container orchestration, and AI‑assisted coding tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- • Proven experience developing microservices with C#/.NET
- • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- • Knowledge of event‑driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g., Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD and monitoring tools
- • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Design, build, and maintain event‑driven microservices using C#/.NET
- • Choose and implement cloud services on Azure, AWS or GCP
- • Integrate messaging technologies such as Service Bus, Kafka or RabbitMQ
- • Deploy containers with Kubernetes and Docker and manage infrastructure as code
- • Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana
- • Collaborate with senior team members to mentor junior engineers and uphold code quality
- • Utilize AI coding tools to improve development efficiency
