Job Description
The Senior Manager leads the Structured Nature Finance team, identifying and developing innovative nature‑based financing opportunities across Africa. Responsibilities include conducting due diligence, financial modelling, managing project delivery, and coordinating with conservation and finance partners to launch sustainable financing mechanisms.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Studies or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in financial analysis, structuring and implementation of impact‑finance mechanisms
- • Proven experience with sustainability bonds, loans, payments for environmental services, carbon offsets or SMME investments
- • Experience working with protected‑area authorities, community conservancies and Indigenous Peoples
- • Excellent written communication skills and ability to work independently
- • Strong prioritisation, project management and stakeholder engagement abilities
- • Fluency in English
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Identify early‑stage nature finance opportunities and conduct due diligence and feasibility assessments
- • Develop financial models to test viability of proposed nature‑based financing mechanisms
- • Support the development and management of the Structured Nature Finance deal portfolio across Africa
- • Provide analytical and technical support to regional teams and external partners for private‑sector financing initiatives
- • Lead day‑to‑day project management, including contract procurement, monitoring consultants and maintaining delivery systems
- • Represent the SNF team in meetings and engagements with stakeholders and partners
- • Collaborate closely with other Nature Finance experts within CI and external organizations
