Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Officer – Cyber Secure by Design will integrate security principles into Safaricom’s product development lifecycle, conduct security assessments, and support the security assurance program. The role involves collaborating with engineering and product teams to identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The incumbent will also contribute to security policy development and provide guidance on secure design practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field
- • Several years of experience in security assurance, secure design, or related roles
- • Strong knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or OWASP
- • Experience with risk assessment, threat modeling, and vulnerability management
- • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- • Ability to work independently and influence cross‑functional teams
