Job Description
The Server & Systems Security Administrator safeguards Mawingu’s server infrastructure by configuring, monitoring and patching systems, managing backups and handling vulnerability remediation. The role ensures high availability, performance and compliance with security standards, and automates routine tasks using scripting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related discipline
- • Minimum 3 years experience in systems administration or security
- • Strong expertise in Windows, Linux and Azure environments
- • Knowledge of networking, firewalls, VPNs and security tools
- • Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash scripting and relevant security certifications (preferred)
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Configure and maintain secure server environments on Windows, Linux and Azure platforms
- • Monitor system performance, apply patches and perform regular backups
- • Manage vulnerability assessments, disaster recovery planning and incident response
- • Implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs and other network security controls
- • Develop PowerShell, Bash or similar scripts to automate administrative tasks
- • Produce documentation and reports on system configurations and security status
