Job Description
The Software Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of UNEP’s digital Environmental Data Capacity Toolkit, ensuring robust functionality for climate data applications.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
- • Experience in developing web‑based applications and data‑driven tools
- • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java
- • Familiarity with environmental data standards and GIS is an advantage

- • Support the design, development, and deployment of the WESR use cases and the digital EDC Toolkit
- • Implement assessment, capacity pathways, and policy guide modules within the toolkit
- • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate environmental data solutions
- • Conduct testing, debugging, and documentation of software components
- • Contribute to continuous improvement of the toolkit’s functionality and user experience
