Job Description
The Solutions & Business Architecture Area Chapter Lead will define and champion enterprise and solution architecture standards across Safaricom’s business units. The role guides cross‑functional teams, ensures alignment of technology solutions with strategic objectives and mentors architects to deliver scalable, secure and innovative services. Collaboration with product, engineering and senior leadership is essential to drive architectural excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
- • Minimum 8 years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture, with a track record of leading architecture teams
- • Strong understanding of IT strategy, cloud platforms, integration patterns and security frameworks
- • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership abilities

- • Define and communicate the enterprise and business architecture vision, principles and standards
- • Lead the Architecture Chapter, facilitating knowledge sharing and best‑practice adoption among architects
- • Ensure solution designs align with strategic business goals, security, scalability and performance requirements
- • Mentor and coach architecture team members, fostering professional growth
- • Collaborate with product, engineering and senior leadership to integrate architectural guidance into project delivery
- • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption pathways
- • Govern architectural compliance through reviews and audits
