Job Description
The Stock Accountant manages inventory accounting functions, ensuring accurate records, reconciliations, and reporting while supporting monthly financial closes and audit requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
- • CPA Intermediate level or above
- • Minimum 3 years experience in inventory/stock control within a manufacturing environment
- • Strong understanding of inventory controls and warehouse operations
- • Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency
- • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and problem‑solving skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Manage and strengthen inventory policies, procedures, controls and ERP processes
- • Conduct monthly and cycle stock counts and reconcile physical stock against ERP balances
- • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances
- • Monitor inventory transactions including transfers, purchases, sales, returns and adjustments
- • Verify goods received against supplier invoices and GRNs
- • Monitor inventory ageing and recommend appropriate actions
- • Record daily production outputs accurately
- • Coordinate with warehouse teams to minimize stock losses, damage and obsolescence
- • Support monthly inventory financial close and external audit requirements
- • Supervise and guide Inventory Accounts Assistants
