Job Description
The superintendent pharmacist oversees pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and optimal medication management. Responsibilities include maintaining the cold chain, supervising dispensing and patient counseling, and leading medication therapy management services. The role also manages sales performance, builds referral networks, and leads the pharmacy team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Pharmacy
- • Registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and a current practice licence in good standing
- • Ability to act as superintendent of record for the premises
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Act as superintendent of record under the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, ensuring compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice
- • Maintain cold chain, controlled‑drug and prescription registers, and complete pharmacovigilance reporting daily
- • Supervise dispensing, prescription review, and patient counseling activities
- • Lead medication therapy management services, including medication reviews, interaction checks, and adherence follow‑up
- • Manage unit sales, gross margin, stock turnover, and cash control to meet targets
- • Develop referral relationships with doctors, specialists, employers, and insurers
- • Recruit, schedule, train, and lead the pharmacy team, including weekend rota coverage
