Job Description
The Supervisor of Payments, Trade & Treasury Bills Operations oversees the end‑to‑end processing of payment, trade and TBO transactions for SBM Bank Kenya. The position ensures compliance with policies, maximizes revenue collection, and prevents fraudulent activity. It also delivers high‑quality service to internal and external clients while meeting agreed service level agreements. The role reports to senior management and collaborates with Treasury, Correspondent Banking and Credit teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline (BA/BSc/HND).
- • Proven experience in banking operations, preferably in payments, trade or treasury bills.
- • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel and strong computer literacy.
- • High attention to detail and accuracy in transaction processing.
- • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all payments, trade and TBO transactions in accordance with bank policies.
- • Collect 100 % of revenue and commissions for payment, trade and TBO products.
- • Identify and prevent fraudulent transactions to eliminate financial losses.
- • Resolve customer complaints within agreed turnaround times and maintain service level standards.
- • Communicate clearly with internal and external clients, both verbally and in writing.
- • Train and develop backup staff to ensure business continuity.
- • Monitor transaction quality and provide feedback to improve operational efficiency.
